RIM sold an estimated 150,000 BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphones during its first weekend in release, according to two analysts. If that number holds, it could represent a setback in RIM’s battle against Google Android and the Apple iPhone for market-share.

  1. Tim says:

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 only sold 150,000 units in its release weekend according to analysts. Compared to the iPhone4′s 1.7 million and the daily sale of 200,000 Android devices daily, this could mean trouble for manufacturer RIM. According to the researchers, this is due to bad advertising, as they did with the Palm handheld devices.
